2021 · Based on 1 season, 4 episodes through May 5, 2021 ·
The documentary follows journalist Maury Terry as he studies the 1976 and 1977 shootings linked to David Berkowitz in New York City. Police arrested and convicted Berkowitz, but Terry believed that other killers helped him. The four-part series follows Terry through police files, old news reports, interviews, and his own notes. The tone stays dark and tense because each new clue leads Terry toward a bigger theory.
The first episode retells the murders and the police hunt. The later episodes focus on Terry's claim that Berkowitz belonged to a satanic cult and did not act alone. The series also follows Terry's links to the Carr brothers, other crimes, the Process group, and Charles Manson. The story shows how Terry's search became an obsession and asks whether the evidence proved a real network or only a story built from weak links.

Creator track record context
Joshua Zeman's work is mainly about crime, folklore, and real-world investigations. Several producers have worked on environmental, civic, or social-issue documentaries. That gives a small liberal or humanitarian signal. Their public profiles do not show a strong DEI or identity-politics record.
