2025– · Based on 1 season, 7 episodes through September 24, 2025 ·
Ben Edwards is a Navy SEAL serving in Iraq in 2015. After he kills an ISIS leader that the CIA wants alive, the military strips him of rank and ends his career. CIA officer Jed Haverford then recruits Ben and Raife Hastings for secret work against an Iranian nuclear deal. The mission takes the men through Europe and into a web of false allies, hidden orders, and deadly betrayals. The show uses brutal gun battles and quiet moments of guilt to follow Ben as his loyalty and judgment begin to break.
The season keeps its attention on soldiers, spies, and the cost of secret missions, with Iraqi, Iranian, Israeli, Black, and white characters filling an international operation. Israeli agents Eliza Perash and Tal Varon are the main supporting women, and Eliza fights beside the men, becomes Ben's lover, and dies while trying to stop the nuclear plot. Her role moves the story through action and personal loss, rather than through a message about identity. The show attacks CIA secrecy and political deals, yet it treats those choices as personal betrayal and spy conflict, not as a lesson about race, gender, or social justice. Brotherhood, revenge, family strain, torture, grief, and the pull between Ben's light and dark sides shape the season.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for The Terminal List: Dark Wolf.
Woke representation / casting
Not present. The season's main operators are mostly white men, while Iraqi, Iranian, Israeli, and black roles fit the agencies and places in the story. Eliza Perash and Tal Varon are capable Mossad agents, but the show does not frame their casting as a diversity message. The international mix serves the spy plot rather than a clear representation-first pattern.
0%
Woke political dialogue
Not present. Characters discuss CIA coverups, Iran's nuclear program, and the cost of secret war. The dialogue serves the spy plot and does not promote modern identity politics or activist causes.
0%
Identity-driven story themes
Not present. The season follows brotherhood, loyalty, guilt, family strain, grief, and moral compromise. Race, gender, sexuality, and group identity do not drive the continuing character arcs.
0%
Western institutional / cultural critique
Not present. The CIA, military leaders, and political deals are shown as secretive and corrupt across the season. The story treats that conflict as a spy thriller about betrayal and power, not as an activist attack on capitalism, patriarchy, religion, or Western culture.
0%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. Dark Wolf is an original prequel built from established characters. Its new missions and added backstory do not make an identity-driven change to a character or the source material.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints
Not present. The X research pass found no meaningful anti-woke complaints about the show. A few audience posts praised its non-woke tone, while other posts debated action, plot, and Israel-related politics. No clear backlash claimed that the series pushes woke or DEI content.
0%
Creator track record context
Cached context shows a low woke and activist record across the main creators, writers, directors, and producers. Jack Carr and the former military writers stress realism, brotherhood, and veteran experience, and interviews about this title use the same frame. Naomi Iizuka has written about social issues and multicultural life, but no identity-first or activist message was tied to this show.
