The story shows some workplace gender struggles. It critiques a female boss who has bad views on women's roles. The female workers unite to demand better treatment. These themes are visible but remain a small part of the overall biographical story.

The show mocks greedy business culture. It critiques rich people who use new-age language to trick others. It shows modern startup culture as toxic and full of selfish men. This is a standard critique of corporate greed rather than a deep activist attack on Western systems.

The show changes some real people into composite characters. It casts diverse actors in these roles. For example, a black actor plays a role based on a white investor. A Hispanic actress plays a character based on a white co-founder. These changes match modern representation goals.

There was almost no anti-woke backlash. Viewers did not complain about identity politics in the show. Most people discussed the weird behavior of the main characters and the real-life business crash.

Some of the writers have a strong history of progressive activism. Eleanor Burgess and Zenzele Price have high woke scores. However, the show's creators and directors are politically neutral and focus on mainstream stories.
