Amber Alert follows Jaq, a woman rushing to a blind date, and Shane, a rideshare driver heading home for his son’s birthday. Their short ride changes when a phone alert reports that a young girl named Charlotte has been taken. The pair spot a black car that fits the alert and choose to follow it across Louisville while they argue about the danger. The movie is a tense, fast-moving thriller with car chases, gunfire, and a dark child-rescue story.
The film treats the AMBER Alert as a call for ordinary people to pay attention and act with care. Jaq’s strong push to save Charlotte grows from grief over her own lost child, while Shane’s concern connects to his love for his son. The pair move from strangers with different ideas about risk into a working team, and a 911 operator and police sergeant help them reach the child. The ending stresses family, courage, teamwork, and shared duty after Charlotte returns safely to her mother.
