Martin is a tired history teacher at a Danish high school. He has lost interest in his work and has grown distant from his wife and sons. Three teacher friends join him in testing the idea that people feel better when they keep a small amount of alcohol in their blood all day. The comedy starts with silly confidence and new energy, then turns darker as the drinking grows and damages work, family, and friendship.
The story mainly follows four ordinary middle-aged men who want to feel young, brave, and alive again. Their alcohol experiment briefly helps them teach, speak, flirt, and reconnect with their families, but it also leads to cheating, lost control, and death. The film shows women as important but mostly as wives or a school leader who push back against the men’s behavior. Its main message is about facing boredom, grief, risk, friendship, and the cost of using alcohol to escape life.
