Edna Mode takes charge when Bob Parr brings baby Jack-Jack to her home during the events of Incredibles 2. Bob is worn out from caring for the baby while Helen is away, so Edna agrees to watch him overnight. Edna studies Jack-Jack in her workshop as his powers shift from teleporting and copying himself to turning into fire. The short has a fast, playful tone, with danger used for jokes rather than fear.
Edna remains the most skilled and forceful person in the room, while Bob is the tired father who needs her help. She treats babysitting as a design problem and turns Jack-Jack's wild powers into a new supersuit. The story gives a woman the expert role and uses a struggling man as the comic helper, but this contrast comes from characters already established in the series. The main message is that careful work, family care, and creative skill can solve a difficult problem.
