Clouds follows Zach Sobiech, a Minnesota high school student and musician who learns that his bone cancer is terminal. He has only months to live, so he spends his last year with his parents, siblings, best friend Sammy, and girlfriend Amy. He writes and records music while he faces love, fear, anger, and the pain of saying goodbye. The film has a sad but hopeful tone, with jokes, romance, family conflict, and a final concert.
The film shows the Sobiech family’s Catholic faith through the Lourdes trip, religious images, prayer, and Zach’s plans for his funeral Mass. The faith is treated as a source of peace and family strength. The story gives careful attention to Zach’s parents, siblings, best friend, and girlfriend as they face his death. The movie’s main message comes from Zach’s music, which tells people to start living before a crisis forces them to notice life.

Creator track record context
Justin Baldoni brings a moderate context through the Man Enough podcast and related work on masculinity, gender roles, privilege, and vulnerability. The other listed writers and producers have little or no recorded activist pattern, while Steve Sarowitz has some humanitarian and civil-rights work. Clouds keeps its focus on illness, music, family, and Catholic faith rather than Baldoni’s wider gender themes.
