Come and Find Me follows David, a quiet Los Angeles graphic designer whose girlfriend Claire suddenly vanishes. He waits and searches for her, then follows clues from Los Angeles to Vancouver. His search brings him into contact with criminals, a government agent, and people who knew Claire under other names. The film moves between warm memories of the couple and a tense, violent mystery.
Claire’s hidden life gives the story its one clear gender-role twist. She is a trained killer who knows how to survive, while David is the loving partner who is frightened, confused, and later needs her rescue. The reversal grows out of Claire’s secret work and the danger around her. Its main themes are trust, grief, secrets, obsession, and the pain of learning that a loved one was never fully known.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for Come and Find Me.
Woke representation / casting
Not present. The cast serves ordinary thriller roles in a modern Los Angeles and Vancouver setting. The film does not frame its casting as a diversity or identity statement.
0%
Woke political dialogue
Not present. The dialogue focuses on love, missing people, crime, and danger. It does not push modern identity, DEI, or activist ideas.
0%
Identity-driven story themes
Claire is the more skilled and dangerous partner because she has a hidden life as an agent and killer. David is the emotional lead who searches for her and later needs her rescue. This flips the usual action-romance roles. The story keeps the reversal tied to Claire’s secret work rather than a wider message about women or men.
24%
Western institutional / cultural critique
Not present. The film shows criminals and a secret government figure as threats. It does not turn those threats into a modern attack on family, Christianity, capitalism, traditional gender roles, or Western institutions.
0%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. The movie is an original screenplay and does not change an established character, source, or historical figure.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints
Not present. Search coverage and the supplied X pass show no meaningful complaints that the film pushes woke, DEI, or identity politics. Audience comments about reversed gender roles were mostly neutral or positive.
0%
Creator track record context
Zack Whedon’s cached score is 5, and his work is mainly genre, crime, and relationship drama. The producers’ cached scores range from 6 to 18, with no clear personal activism. The casting directors’ cached scores are 10 or 11 and show no clear activist casting record. This gives weak creator track record context.
