Clair Hamilton is a former military specialist who returns to the snowy mountains of British Columbia after her father dies. Her young son Charlie is kidnapped by a violent group led by a man called Father, who wants money tied to Clair’s inheritance. Clair takes the ransom, fights back when the deal turns into a trap, and follows the gang into the wilderness with a wounded kidnapper. The movie is a grim, cold action thriller about a mother using training, anger, and endurance to bring her son home.
Clair is the main fighter, and her military service explains why she can survive the chase. Hobbs is a black supporting fighter in the gang, but her race is not part of her character story. The film centers on family guilt, revenge, abuse, and a strange bond between Clair and the wolves. The ending treats the wolves as a force of nature that helps punish Father.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for Daughter of the Wolf.
Woke representation / casting
Not present. The film includes a mixed cast, but it does not frame any casting choice as a diversity goal. Hobbs is a black supporting fighter in the gang, and her identity is not part of the plot.
0%
Woke political dialogue
Not present. The dialogue covers ransom, military service, family loss, revenge, and survival. It has no modern identity, DEI, or activist message.
0%
Identity-driven story themes
The movie centers on Clair, a woman who takes the lead in rescuing her son. The story repeatedly shows her fighting, shooting, and surviving against male criminals. Her military training explains those skills, so the movie does not present her success as a lesson about women defeating men. The female-hero angle is clear, but it stays inside a standard revenge thriller.
25%
Western institutional / cultural critique
Not present. The film shows a violent criminal leader who controls abused followers. The conflict stays inside the crime plot and does not attack Western institutions, religion, family life, or social norms.
0%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. No established source character, canon, or real historical person is part of the story. The film does not make an identity-related replacement or rewrite.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints
Not present. The supplied X pass found only fringe comparisons with Disney’s “woke Star Wars” and comments about strong women. No post or review accused this film of pushing DEI, identity politics, race or gender swaps, or LGBT themes.
0%
Creator track record context
The director’s public work is mainly action, horror, and survival stories. The writer’s work includes environmental and culturally specific films, but no sustained identity activism is documented. One producer has a credit on a queer teen film, while the wider producer group has low scores. The film itself shows no matching activist or identity-first message.
