Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for It's What's Inside.
Woke representation / casting
The movie has a very diverse cast, which is typical for modern Netflix movies. However, the characters' races and backgrounds are not used to make political points. The characters are written as selfish and flawed rather than perfect role models.

Woke political dialogue
Political speeches and social-justice talk are almost completely missing. Characters make a few small jokes about modern social topics, but the dialogue focuses on the thriller story and relationship drama.

Identity-driven story themes
The story is about body swapping, which brings up themes of vanity and social media obsession. The main character feels bad about her looks compared to an online influencer. These struggles are shown as personal problems, not political ones.
5%
Western institutional / cultural critique
The film is very critical of modern dating and friendships, depicting these relationships as toxic. The male characters are shown as selfish and dishonest. This works as a dark satire of superficial youth culture rather than a political attack.
