Benny is a college student who takes his brother's chauffeur job for one night in Los Angeles. He expects to drive two women between clubs, but Blaire and Zoe are vampires who use him in a plan to kill rival vampire leaders. Benny is caught between his brother Jay's human team that hunts vampires and Victor's fight to rule the city. The movie has a fast, neon-lit, bloody, and playful tone, with a small coming-of-age story under the action.
Night Teeth gives its two main vampire women much of the action, and their friendship shapes the plot. Zoe wants power and pushes Blaire to join her, while Blaire slowly chooses her bond with Benny over the vampire plan. The film also shows a rich, mostly white vampire class controlling businesses, police, and politics while a Boyle Heights community protects its own area. A brief queer vampire named Rocko appears, but his identity is a side detail rather than the movie's main subject.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for Night Teeth.
Woke representation / casting
Benny is a black lead, and Jay's family and girlfriend are Latino characters tied to Boyle Heights. These identities appear in major heroic roles and create a visible representation signal. The modern Los Angeles setting makes the casting believable, and the film does not present it as a broad diversity campaign. The signal is visible but mild.
10%
Woke political dialogue
Not present. The characters talk about vampire rules, consent, power, and survival. The film has no clear current political speech or activist debate.
0%
Identity-driven story themes
Zoe and Blaire drive much of the night's violence, and their friendship controls many of the choices. Lucy Fry said the women might once have been supporting characters and that this is now their story. The film uses Zoe's ambition and Blaire's choice to build a female-centered subplot, and it adds jokes about men acting without thinking. The theme matters to the action, but the movie remains a vampire thriller rather than a full empowerment story.
37%
Western institutional / cultural critique
The film says wealthy, mostly white vampires control Los Angeles businesses, law enforcement, and politics. The story places Boyle Heights outside that system and makes its human residents the main group that resists the vampire leaders. A police officer connected to the system nearly arrests Benny when he asks for help. The movie uses this power setup across the plot, but it keeps the critique inside a fantasy crime story and does not name modern groups or causes.
32%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. The film is an original vampire story. It does not adapt known characters, a franchise, or real historical events.

Anti-woke backlash and complaints
An AlloCiné audience review called the film liberal propaganda and blamed it for BLM references, neo-feminist jokes, quota-style casting, and stereotype-breaking. That review is a direct anti-woke complaint. Reddit and Letterboxd discussion mostly focused on the plot, style, and short celebrity appearances. The evidence shows a fringe complaint, not broad backlash.

Creator track record context
Adam Randall and Brent Dillon have little documented history of activist or identity-driven work. Mary Vernieu has discussed the value of representation and diverse role models in film. The producers have low or modest cached scores and no clear public pattern around identity politics. The creator context is a weak supporting signal for this title.
