Old Henry follows Henry McCarty, a widowed farmer who lives with his teenage son, Wyatt, on a lonely farm in the Oklahoma Territory in 1906. Henry wants a quiet life, but Wyatt wants freedom and a chance to see more of the world. After Henry finds the wounded Curry with a bag of money, men who claim to be lawmen arrive at the farm. The story becomes a tense, violent fight as Henry protects his son and decides whom he can trust.
Henry’s hidden past changes the way Wyatt sees his father and turns a family story into a tale about guilt, fear, and survival. Henry must choose between staying hidden and using the violent skills he tried to leave behind. The film focuses on fatherhood, trust, guns, and the cost of violence. The ending links Henry to the legend of Billy the Kid and gives the old Western story a sad final turn.
