Seth is a shy man who works at an animal shelter. He spots Holly, an old high school crush, and becomes dangerously fixed on her. After she turns him down, he kidnaps her and locks her in a cage under the shelter where he works. He claims he is saving her after reading her private journal. The film is a dark, tense thriller about control, fear, and two people who both hide ugly secrets.
The story soon flips in a major mid-film reveal. Holly is not only a captive. She is also a serial killer, and she and Seth play cruel mind games for power. The ending leaves Holly free and Seth kept mutilated in a cage as her outlet so she can live a normal public life. The movie stays focused on personal obsession, violence, twisted love, and captor-captive power games. It does not push modern identity politics or activist messaging.

Creator track record context
Writer Jeremy Slater has a moderate record from other projects. That includes queer character choices and pushback against people who disliked same-sex content. The directors and most producers have very low scores and no activist pattern. That mixed crew history is light background only and does not shape Pet’s story or marketing.
