The movie takes place on Osiris, a harsh planet built during humanity’s spread to other worlds. Lieutenant Kane Sommerville works for contractor EXOR, but he leaves his space station when he learns that his young daughter Indi is trapped below. He joins Sy Lombrok, an escaped prisoner and former nurse who carries deep grief after losing his own family. Together they cross a ruined colony while monsters and soldiers close in and the countdown runs down. The tone is rough and dark, but the family story leaves room for hope and second chances.
Most of the social message comes from EXOR’s abuse of power. The company uses forced prison labor, turns prisoners into killing creatures, and plans to destroy the colony to hide its mistake. The story treats this as a clear corporate crime inside a dark science-fiction adventure. The strongest themes are family duty and grief. The story also asks whether trust and forgiveness can help people change after terrible choices.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for Science Fiction Volume One: The Osiris Child.
Woke representation / casting
Not present. The cast includes actors from different backgrounds in named roles, but the film does not make identity or diversity a story point. The main roles are not framed as representation-first choices.
0%
Woke political dialogue
The film has brief lines about prison labor, corporate cover-ups, and the planned destruction of a colony. The characters call the hidden experiment a crime and say it could be genocide. The talk supports a mild anti-corporate message, but it does not discuss race, gender, sexuality, DEI, or current activism.
18%
Identity-driven story themes
Not present. The story centers on a father rescuing his daughter, an escaped prisoner’s grief, survival, trust, and redemption. It does not build its main conflict around race, gender, sexuality, or identity politics.
0%
Western institutional / cultural critique
EXOR controls the colonies and uses prisoners as forced labor. The company turns prisoners into weapons and plans to destroy a whole colony to hide its mistake. The heroes resist the cover-up to save families and workers. This is a clear anti-corporate and anti-abuse message, but it stays inside the film’s future adventure and does not target modern race, gender, religion, or Western culture.
22%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. The film is an original science-fiction story with no established characters or real historical figures being changed.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints
Not present. The separate X pass found no anti-woke reaction, and wider searches found no complaints that the film pushes DEI, identity politics, or left-wing messaging. Public criticism focused on plot, effects, and the unfinished ending.
