In 2048, Juan and Adela cross from Mexico into Texas to escape a cartel and build a safer life. Juan works as a ranch hand, while Adela works in town and stays close to other migrant workers. After the yearly Purge ends, masked attackers keep killing and chase anyone they call non-American. Juan, Adela, a ranch family, and other survivors travel through a burning Texas toward the Mexican border. The movie mixes bloody action, horror, and a grim view of a country tearing itself apart.
The story makes immigration and race the main political subjects. Mexican immigrants lead the fight, while a white nationalist group tries to remove non-white people from the country. The movie turns the border around when Mexico opens its gates to Americans fleeing the violence. News reports, speeches, flags, masks, and repeated talk about who belongs in America keep these ideas in view. The characters depend on a mixed group working together, but the film presents white nationalist Americans as the main source of the racial threat.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for The Forever Purge.
Woke representation / casting
The film puts Mexican actors Ana de la Reguera and Tenoch Huerta in the two lead roles. Juan and Adela’s Mexican identity drives the border story, so the casting fits their backstory. The film also gives several Latino migrant characters major roles and uses Spanish throughout. Interviews and marketing highlighted the Mexican cast as part of the film’s identity. The wider survivor group is mixed rather than a forced one-of-each team.
32%
Woke political dialogue
The film uses news broadcasts and speeches to discuss immigration, racial purity, and who counts as an American. The Purge Purification Force calls for a permanent purge and targets people it calls non-American. The story links the violent movement to the NFFA and fear-based politics. The characters also talk directly about border crossings, refugees, and a country divided by hate.
55%
Identity-driven story themes
The film makes a Mexican immigrant couple the main heroes. A white nationalist movement hunts non-white people and says it is purifying America. The story reverses the border-refugee image when Mexico shelters Americans fleeing the violence. The final fight joins Mexican immigrants, native characters, and white ranch people against the racist attackers.
68%
Western institutional / cultural critique
The film portrays the NFFA government as helping create a violent system. The story attacks white nationalism, anti-immigrant politics, and the use of American identity to excuse violence. The ranch family begins with distrust of its Mexican workers, but the plot pushes them toward cooperation. The movie does not center on attacks against Christianity, traditional families, or men as a group.
52%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. The movie adds a new Purge movement and new characters. It does not change an established character’s identity or rewrite a real historical event.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints
Small X accounts called the film anti-white propaganda and a leftist story about immigrants defeating white Americans. A few audience posts called it woke or complained that the film paints most white people as villains. Right-leaning reviews described the movie as anti-Trump or pro-immigration propaganda. The reaction was fringe, with no clear boycott, major influencer campaign, or sustained review-bomb effort.

Creator track record context
Writer James DeMonaco has repeatedly used Purge films to discuss class, race, and political power. Director Everardo Gout has made socially themed work and has spoken about immigration and prejudice in this film. Producer Jason Blum has backed political themes in some Purge films, while most other listed producers have little public activist context. This background supports the film’s political direction, but it does not replace evidence from the movie itself.
