Paul and Wendy take their ten-year-old daughter Taylor to a remote lakeside RV camp for Thanksgiving. Taylor soon disappears, and the frightened parents lose faith in the local search. They hunt on their own, suspect nearby campers, and make violent choices as fear turns into panic. The movie uses a dark, tense tone and builds toward a final twist about the family's past.
The main story follows grief, denial, and the damage caused when people refuse to face a painful loss. Paul and Wendy turn their fear against innocent strangers, while Sheriff Baker tries to keep the search under control. A counselor explains the stages of grief, and the ending shows the couple trapped in the same false story again. The film treats their violence as a tragic result of broken thinking, not as a political cause.
