In 1980s Sudan, Israeli Mossad agent Ari Levinson leads a risky rescue mission for Ethiopian Jews trapped by war and persecution. He turns an abandoned beach hotel on the Red Sea into a fake diving resort so refugees can be moved to waiting boats. Ari must hide the operation from Sudanese soldiers while his team pretends to serve tourists from Europe. The film mixes spy action, danger, jokes, and hopeful human drama.
The film makes the rescue of a persecuted religious and ethnic group its main subject. It presents Ari and the Mossad team as brave helpers, while Ethiopian leader Kabede Bimro gets less screen time even though he helps guide the escape. Short lines say that the world ignores Africa and that people must help refugees, and the ending links the story to millions of displaced people today. The main message is that strangers should protect people in danger and that all people deserve a safe home.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for The Red Sea Diving Resort.
Woke representation / casting
Not present. The main roles show Israeli agents, Ethiopian refugees, and Sudanese officials, as the story calls for. Rachel is a skilled female agent based on the real woman who managed the resort, not a new identity message.
0%
Woke political dialogue
The agents say that Africa is ignored and that someone has chosen to care. Jake says the crisis is overlooked because it is happening in Africa. Rachel says that everyone is a refugee. Kabede ends with a message about the world's displaced people.
38%
Identity-driven story themes
The film centers Ethiopian Jews as a persecuted religious and ethnic minority. Kabede's opening and ending messages connect this history to today's refugee crisis. The rescue is framed as a moral duty to strangers. This message runs through the film but does not become a wider race or gender campaign.
42%
Western institutional / cultural critique
A character says the world ignored the crisis because it happened in Africa. The line briefly attacks outside indifference toward African suffering. The film does not build a wider attack on Western society, capitalism, patriarchy, Christianity, or family life.
12%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. The movie combines real people and changes some details for a shorter story, but it does not clearly swap a person's race, gender, sexuality, or heroic identity.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints
Not present. The supplied X check found no anti-woke complaints or boycott talk. Other visible criticism called the film a white-savior story or Israeli propaganda, which was not anti-woke backlash.

Creator track record context
Gideon Raff has a cached score of 21/100 and has discussed LGBTQ acceptance. He also framed this film around compassion for refugees, which matches its closing message. Cached scores for the listed producers and casting directors range from 9 to 41. This gives mild creator track record context, not a strong identity-focused record.
