Dawn Blanton is a Texas waitress and metal artist who dreams of studying art in Paris, France. She joins a dating show to get the money and free trip she needs, but the contestants land in Paris, Texas, near her home. The show's cowboy bachelor, Trey, is the man Dawn met at a bar before filming, so her plan to get rejected becomes harder. The movie uses bright romance, silly contests, fake reality show drama, and a warm family story.
The film gives Dawn repeated tough and skilled traits, such as welding, making spurs, riding a bull, throwing an axe, and standing up to rude men. The contestants include black women, an Asian woman named Jasmine who is a scientist, and Rachel, a black producer who helps Dawn. The film also treats the women as bold characters, but it mostly uses their differences for jokes and dating-show drama. Its main message is that Dawn can keep her art-school dream while building a love story with Trey, so the identity material stays mild and secondary.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for The Wrong Paris.
Woke representation / casting
The dating-show cast puts several women from minority backgrounds in major roles. Lexi and Rachel are black, and Jasmine is an Asian scientist who reaches the final two. Dawn is a white Texan, and the film presents the group as a reality-show ensemble rather than making race the subject. The casting is visible, but the story gives no diversity-first message or identity conflict.
24%
Woke political dialogue
Not present. The dialogue jokes about dating shows, romance, sex, money, and country life. It does not make a clear modern political or activist argument.
0%
Identity-driven story themes
Dawn is repeatedly shown as a tough, capable woman who welds, makes her own spurs, rides a bull, throws an axe, and stands up to rude men. The film uses these traits to make her stand out from contestants who perform for the bachelor. Rachel also helps Dawn challenge the show's setup. The main story still centers on art school, family, money, and romance, so the identity-driven material is mild and secondary.
15%
Western institutional / cultural critique
Not present. The movie mocks reality-TV tricks and the staged contest for one man's attention. It does not build a modern activist critique of men, family, faith, capitalism, or Western institutions.
0%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. The movie is an original romantic comedy about a fake dating show. It does not change an established character, canon, or historical event.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints
Not present. Public discussion focused on the film's cheesy tone, romance, dating-show jokes, and ending. No clear anti-woke or anti-DEI complaint appeared in the reviewed news, audience posts, or reviews.
