Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety follows Sonu, a sharp event manager in Delhi who treats his childhood friend Titu like family. Titu is kind but easily led, and he wants to marry Sweety after a string of bad relationships. Sonu suspects that Sweety is hiding a selfish side, so he tries to stop the wedding and protect their bond. The film turns an arranged marriage into a loud contest between male friendship and romance, with broad jokes, songs, family chaos, and wedding drama. The story places Sonu in the role of the clever protector and Titu in the role of the trusting fool. Sweety first looks caring and perfect, but she later says she is controlling and plans to remove Sonu from Titu's life. Sonu uses lies, an ex-girlfriend, family pressure, and threats to break the couple apart, while the film often treats women as traps or trouble. Its main message favors the old friendship and a male-led view of relationships instead of a modern activist or identity-focused message.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety.
Woke representation / casting
Not present. The main cast is typical for a contemporary Indian relationship story set in Delhi. The film does not use diversity-first casting or identity claims in its story or marketing.
0%
Woke political dialogue
Not present. The dialogue centers on marriage, friendship, wedding costs, and insults about men and women. It does not push modern identity, DEI, or activist ideas.
0%
Identity-driven story themes
Not present. The film makes gender conflict central, but it treats women as possible manipulators and men as their targets. It favors Sonu and Titu's male friendship over marriage, so its message is traditional and male-centered rather than modern identity-driven.
0%
Western institutional / cultural critique
Not present. The film does not attack Western institutions, Christianity, capitalism, or modern society. Its conflict is a personal fight over friendship, dating, and marriage.
0%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. The film is an original contemporary story and does not change a known character, source, or historical event.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints
Not present. No sustained anti-woke complaint was found. Public debate mainly criticized the film for sexist treatment of women, while a few right-leaning users praised it as not woke. The praise and the opposite criticism do not show an anti-woke backlash.

Creator track record context
Ranjan's recurring gender-focused relationship comedies are the only weak signal in this group. Mody is mainly known for commercial relationship writing and has little public activist record. Mehta's work is mostly production work without a public identity-politics profile. The creators' work is mainly commercial rather than activist.
