In 1979, a young adult-film crew drives to a quiet farm in rural Texas to shoot a cheap porn movie. Their hosts are an old couple living on the land. When the couple catch them filming, the night turns into a bloody fight for survival. The tone is sexy, gory, and retro, like a 1970s slasher mixed with a behind-the-scenes film shoot.

The story is mainly about aging, beauty, lust, and wanting fame. Pearl, the old host, is jealous of the young cast and kills several of them. Maxine, a rising porn actress, is the one who gets away. Viewers also hear a preacher on the radio and learn Maxine grew up under a strict church dad. One character gives a short sex-positive speech that treats queer and interracial sex as normal. The film is not a heavy activist message movie, but those free-sex and anti-strict-religion notes are easy to notice next to the horror.
