Ansel Elgort

Personal context

Summary

Ansel Elgort is an actor, producer, and DJ known for The Fault in Our Stars, the Divergent films, Baby Driver, The Goldfinch, and West Side Story. His roles range from young adult romance and science fiction to crime, drama, and musical adaptations. In 2016, he called Donald Trump’s campaign racist and sexist, described the United States as a country that should progress, and said he wanted to do more to support schools and arts education. He also expressed interest in joining protests against the Dakota Access Pipeline; no public record establishes sustained participation in that cause, and no statements on DEI or representation as a goal of his work are on record.
