Personal context

Summary

Armie Hammer is an American actor known for The Social Network, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., and Call Me by Your Name. His roles have included stories engaging with sexuality, race, and privilege, though his credits alone do not establish his personal views. In a 2018 interview, he called himself “liberal” and “progressive,” praised a play’s treatment of toxic masculinity and white privilege, and discussed the Time’s Up movement. In 2023, he criticized what he called the “woke-mob” and “cancel-culture” business and argued for rehabilitation and redemption; no sustained record of DEI, identity-based, or activist affiliations is on record.
