Personal context

Summary

Avan Jogia is a Canadian actor, writer, and director known for Victorious, Twisted, and Door Mouse. His work ranges from teen television and genre films to stories about mixed-race identity and a gender-flipped noir centered on women, queer people, and other disenfranchised characters. In 2011, he co-founded Straight But Not Narrow, a campaign supporting LGBTQ people that worked with schools and gay-straight alliances. He has also spoken about barriers facing actors and filmmakers of color and the value of representation, while arguing that artists of color should be free to tell stories beyond their racial backgrounds. No public partisan campaigning or conservative, anti-woke statements are on record.
