Summary

Joe Barton is a British television and film writer and creator known for Giri/Haji, The Lazarus Project, Black Doves, and The Ritual. His work often combines crime, science fiction, and other genre plots with character-focused drama. In an interview about Giri/Haji, he said he had always wanted the series to have a diverse cast and preferred writing characters unlike himself; he also discussed taking care with cultural appropriation. He has said he worries about climate change, but no public record of sustained political campaigning, identity advocacy, or activist affiliations is evident.
