Kenan Thompson

Personal context

Summary

Kenan Thompson is an actor, comedian, and producer known for All That, Kenan & Kel, Good Burger, and his long-running work on Saturday Night Live. His comedy spans broad character sketches and recurring bits such as “Black Jeopardy!” In 2013, he stopped playing black women on SNL, saying he was uncomfortable with the show relying on him instead of creating opportunities for black female performers. He later said that opening the lane brought new voices and opportunities to the show, and in 2024 he criticized Project 2025 at the Democratic National Convention. His public record includes these representation and partisan statements; it does not show an ongoing leadership role in a wider identity advocacy organization.
