Mary Holland

Personal context

Summary

Mary Holland is an actor, comedian, and writer known for comedy roles in Veep, Parks and Recreation, and The Good Place, as well as co-writing and acting in Happiest Season. Her work often features offbeat comic characters; in interviews, she has also said that queer stories should be told across genres and platforms, that audiences want to see themselves represented, and that queer actors should have opportunities in queer and straight roles. She described helping bring Clea DuVall’s personal story to the screen and hoped viewers would feel seen. Her public record shows these specific comments on queer representation, with no comparable public record of broader political campaigning or advocacy.
