2017–2020 · Based on 4 seasons through March 20, 2020 ·
Greenhouse Academy follows siblings Hayley and Alex Woods after their astronaut mother dies in a mysterious rocket accident. They enter an elite boarding school in Southern California and join rival groups called the Ravens and the Eagles. The students later work together to solve secrets tied to the school, their family, earthquakes, a deadly virus, and a plot to harm the world. The tone mixes romance, school drama, suspense, and science fiction, with frequent cliffhangers.
One clear woke element appears in the first season when Sophie campaigns to become the Eagles’ first female captain. She says women leaders are judged more harshly, calls for equal support for girls’ sports under Title IX, and promises organic food, a safer campus, and student activism. These ideas give gender equality and small activist themes a visible place in one school election story. The show then focuses much more on friendship, loyalty, romance, family grief, secret science, crime, and rivalries.

Identity-driven story themes
The first-season captain race presents female leadership as a change the school should celebrate. Sophie says ambitious women face criticism that men would not receive. The show gives this idea a small but clear role in Sophie’s leadership story. The mystery and later seasons focus much more on loyalty, romance, family, science, and danger.
16%
Western institutional / cultural critique
Sophie says the school should keep up with more female leaders and give girls’ sports equal support. She also calls for a safer campus, organic food, and student activism. These are brief school-reform points, and the show does not make family, religion, capitalism, or Western society its main target.
12%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. The series adapts the Israeli show The Greenhouse, but no identity-based change to an established character or real historical figure is shown. The American setting, cast, and shorter story are ordinary adaptation choices.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints
Not present. The supplied X pass found no anti-woke reaction. Web coverage focuses on fans being upset about the cancellation and cliffhanger, not on woke, DEI, or identity politics.
