2016–2017 · Based on 2 seasons through May 11, 2017 ·
The Catch follows Alice Vaughan, a skilled private investigator in Los Angeles. Her fiancé, Ben, tricks her and steals millions before he disappears. Alice searches for Ben while her team handles strange cases for wealthy and dangerous clients. The show combines crime, romance, comedy, and many twists. Alice leads her own company, and her work gives women strong positions in the story.
The show includes women who lead businesses, investigations, crime groups, and police work. The main team includes Black, Asian, Middle Eastern, and white characters in important roles. Season two adds Margot’s recurring bisexual storyline and her relationship with Felicity. These visible elements add diversity and identity themes, but they do not control the show. Romance, crime schemes, family problems, and character relationships remain more important to the main story.
