2020 · Based on 1 season, 6 episodes through October 7, 2020 ·
Two Weeks to Live follows Kim Noakes, a young woman who leaves her remote Scottish home on her 21st birthday. Her mother Tina raised her with survival training and false warnings about a dangerous outside world. Kim wants to honor her dead father by finding the gangster she thinks killed him, but a cruel prank makes her believe the world will end in two weeks. The six short episodes mix gun fights, dark jokes, family pain, romance, and a fast chase through northern England and Scotland.
The strongest woke element is the repeated picture of women as the most skilled and forceful people in the story. Kim is a trained fighter who drives the revenge plot, while Tina is a deadly former police officer and survival expert. The men are mostly foolish helpers, weak criminals, or corrupt officers, and the show makes several jokes about male behavior and men hiding their feelings. The series also places a few non-white actors in important supporting roles, but it does not make race, sexuality, or a larger political cause central to the plot.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for Two Weeks to Live.
Woke representation / casting
Kim and Tina are the two main action figures, and the show gives them the strongest fighting and survival skills. Nicky and Jay are male comic helpers, while Thompson is a recurring woman in a major police role. The brothers and Thompson also add visible minority casting in important supporting parts. The modern British setting makes these choices possible, and the story explains the women’s skills through training, so the identity signal is clear but limited.
37%
Woke political dialogue
Kim asks why a woman works for a man who speaks to her badly and why she stays married to a man who does not love her. Tina later says men pretend not to like things they enjoy and says the outside world does not let people be themselves. The lines make gender behavior sound like part of the world’s problems. These moments are short jokes in two episodes, not a main speech or plot.
29%
Identity-driven story themes
Kim and Tina repeatedly control the action, defeat armed men, and decide what the group should do. Kim is the trained fighter who starts the revenge mission, and Tina is a deadly survival expert who can rescue the group. Nicky and Jay are often foolish, frightened, or used as helpers, while the main male police officer is corrupt. This makes female strength and male weakness a continuing story pattern, although the show explains Kim’s skills through years of training and keeps the tone comic.
57%
Western institutional / cultural critique
The show treats the police as corrupt through Brooks, who works with criminals and lies to Jay. Tina also says the outside world is more dangerous than Jimmy because men hide what they like and cannot be themselves. The first idea is a crime-comedy plot, while the second gives a brief modern critique of male behavior and social rules. The series does not build a larger attack on family, religion, capitalism, or Western institutions.
24%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. The series is an original story about Kim, Tina, and two brothers. It does not change a known character, book, real person, or historical event.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints
Not present. The supplied X pass found no anti-woke posts or specific complaints. Public audience posts that were found focused on humor, pacing, action, and the cast rather than woke, DEI, or identity politics.
0%
Creator track record context
Gaby Hull, Lucy Montgomery, Al Campbell, and most producers have low stored woke scores. Phoebe Eclair-Powell is the clear exception, with a stored score of 71 and a record of feminist, queer, and anti-patriarchal writing. Maisie Williams also framed the project around a young female lead and the need for female voices in a male-created project. This context supports the show’s female-centered design, but it does not show that the series is queer or strongly activist.
