Below Her Mouth follows Jasmine, a Toronto fashion editor who is engaged to a man and thinks she has a settled future. She meets Dallas, a roofer who has just ended another relationship, during a night out. Dallas pursues her, and Jasmine gives in even though she is unsure what the affair means for her engagement. The movie has a dreamy, intimate, and highly sexual tone, with the romance moving quickly and leaving little room for other parts of their lives.
The movie makes a lesbian relationship and female sexual desire its main subject. Jasmine's attraction to Dallas forces her to question the straight life she had planned. Dallas and Jasmine act on desire instead of following the safe path expected of them, and the film treats that choice as emotionally real rather than shameful. Repeated intimate scenes place women's bodies, pleasure, and queer love at the center of the story.

Creator track record context
April Mullen's cached record gives her a 21/100 score and notes her female-focused genre work without a broad record of activism. Stephanie Fabrizi and Melissa Coghlan each have cached scores of 0/100. Jennifer Capraru has a cached score of 28/100 because of theatre work tied to gender and peacebuilding.
