Yuri Boyka is a free man when he accidentally kills an opponent in an underground fight. Guilt drives him to Russia to face the widow Alma. He learns she is trapped in debt to crime boss Zourab because of a loan for a community center. Boyka enters a brutal series of matches to free her. He risks being arrested again and losing his chance at professional MMA.
The film is about male-hero redemption, honor, debt, and personal forgiveness. Alma is a widow and caregiver for children, not a girlboss fighter or institutional leader. The villain is a Russian mob boss who uses corrupt local police bribes, which fits a normal crime story. Dialogue stays on fighting, guilt, and freeing Alma, with no activist identity talk or modern identity politics. A priest scolds Boyka for fighting while taking donations, but that is only a short character beat, not a large attack on Western institutions.
