Cole is a popular American vlogger who has spent ten years filming risky trips and pranks for millions of followers. He travels to Moscow with his girlfriend Erin and friends Dash, Samantha, and Thomas for a private escape room arranged by a wealthy fan. The game soon turns into a brutal fight through locked rooms, traps, armed men, and staged deaths. The movie uses a tense, bloody tone and keeps asking whether Cole is watching real danger or another piece of content.
The movie centers on the hunger for views, likes, and fame. Cole keeps performing for his audience even when his friends seem to face real torture, and his online image hides a selfish and reckless man. The story contrasts the cheerful life he shows on camera with the fear and pain that he causes or ignores off camera. The final prank makes Cole face the damage caused when entertainment becomes more important than trust.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for Follow Me.
Woke representation / casting
Not present. The modern American group includes men and women from different racial backgrounds, but the movie does not present their identities as a message. No cast member is framed through empowerment, representation, or a diversity-first claim.
0%
Woke political dialogue
Not present. The characters talk about vlogging, fame, danger, and survival. They do not give speeches about politics, DEI, or activist causes.
0%
Identity-driven story themes
A brief same-sex kiss appears in the film, along with opposite-sex kissing. The moment does not give the couple a story or identity arc. The main story follows Cole’s false online image and hunger for attention, not queer issues.
5%
Western institutional / cultural critique
Not present. The movie criticizes influencer culture and the desire for attention. It does not attack Western institutions, family life, religion, capitalism, traditional gender roles, or conservatives.
0%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. The movie is an original story about a vlogger and a custom escape room. It does not change a known character, source story, or real historical figure.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints
Not present. No anti-woke or right-leaning complaints were found. Online comments focus on the twist, gore, title confusion, plot holes, and similarities to Saw or Escape Room.
0%
Creator track record context
Will Wernick has a cached 0/100 score and no known activist public profile. Brittani Ward has a cached 56/100 score because she supports ethnically diverse casting. The movie does not connect that casting background to an identity message, so the creator context stays limited.
