Officer Cardillo is a tired and disgraced cop working in Puerto Rico. A Category 5 hurricane traps him, his rookie partner, and several residents inside an apartment building. A gang enters the building to steal valuable paintings while the police try to keep everyone alive. The movie uses gunfights, flooding, and a loose pet tiger to create a rough action tone.
The film gives a black resident a short backstory about being hurt and wrongly judged by New York police. He also says that he fought his arrest and feels guilty about his settlement, so the scene sends a mixed message. Jess is a brave Latina officer, and Troy is a capable doctor who rescues people and fights the thieves. These parts matter during the siege, but race and gender politics do not drive the main plot.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for Force of Nature.
Woke representation / casting
The film gives visible heroic roles to Jess, a Latina police officer, and Troy, a woman doctor. Both women save lives, use weapons, and take part in the main action. Their jobs fit modern Puerto Rico, but the film makes their strength a clear part of the group of heroes.
16%
Woke political dialogue
Griffin talks about police harassment, racial profiling, and the money he received from New York police. Jess calls out Cardillo for working in Puerto Rico without learning Spanish. These lines are clear but take up only a small part of the movie.
24%
Identity-driven story themes
Griffin is a black man who moved to Puerto Rico after a violent meeting with police. His anger at police explains why he trained his tiger to attack them. The film later weakens this theme by having Griffin blame himself and feel guilty about his settlement.
27%
Western institutional / cultural critique
The film shows Cardillo as careless and disgraced, and it gives Griffin a police abuse backstory. Jess pushes Cardillo to respect local people and do his job. The rough former cops still become heroes, so the criticism stays secondary.
22%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. The film tells an original story and does not change an established character or real person.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints
One review complained that the racial profiling and Holocaust scenes felt like forced woke items. Several user reviews instead praised the film for avoiding PC politics. No broad anti-woke backlash appeared.
8%
Creator track record context
Cory Miller’s cached history includes stories about police misconduct and corruption. Michael Polish has a mild cached activist record linked mainly to one trafficking drama. Most listed producers have little or no identity-driven history. The creative group gives mild supporting context.
