Alex Danyliuk is a young Ukrainian immigrant living in Canada with his parents. When a bank fires his mother and the family struggles to keep their home, Alex uses his computer skills to steal credit cards and make money online. His friend Sye brings him into black-market deals, while Kira joins them as a skilled hacker. The crime spreads from Toronto to Hong Kong and pulls Alex into a dangerous plan led by the masked Zed. The movie has a dark, fast-moving thriller tone, but it also follows Alex’s anger, fear, and poor choices.
The movie’s clearest social message is Alex’s anger at banks and the wider financial system. He first treats cybercrime as a way to save his family, then turns revenge into a plan to disrupt markets, so the story gives a small anti-bank and anti-system signal. Kira is a prominent female hacker and FBI agent, but her role mainly drives the crime plot. The story focuses more on greed, loyalty, crime, and the cost of chasing easy money. It ends with Alex serving prison time and learning that the people around him used him, which keeps the political message tied to a personal crime story.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for Hacker.
Woke representation / casting
Not present. Kira is a female hacker and FBI agent, but the movie treats that as a crime-role detail rather than a diversity or identity message. Alex remains the main computer expert and lead character.
0%
Woke political dialogue
The film includes short anti-bank and anti-system lines around Alex’s revenge. Alex aims his anger at banks and the financial market, not at race, sex, or identity groups. The story keeps the talk tied to personal money problems instead of a wider activist program.
15%
Identity-driven story themes
Not present. Alex’s Ukrainian background and family hardship explain his choices. The movie uses these facts to set up the crime plot, not to argue about modern identity politics.
0%
Western institutional / cultural critique
The film blames a bank for firing Alex’s mother and pushing his family toward financial trouble. Alex turns that anger into theft and a plan to shake the financial market. The movie treats the conflict as personal revenge and later shows the crime as reckless, so its institutional criticism stays broad and limited.
25%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. The movie is loosely based on a real hacker but does not present a known fictional character or historical figure being changed. Its identity-related details belong to the original story.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints
Not present. The X research found no anti-woke reaction or specific complaint. Web reviews and audience posts focus on weak hacking, plot quality, and whether Alex is a hero, not on woke, DEI, or identity politics.
0%
Creator track record context
Not present. The cached context rates Satayev, Zhaksylykov, and Sultan at 0/100. Their known work centers on crime, war, family, sports, and Kazakh history, with no clear recurring DEI or modern identity-politics pattern.
