Stanley Hill is a retired special-ops man living as a civilian in Columbus, Ohio. He sees his wife Vivian murdered in a parking garage. Corrupt detectives free the killer. Stanley renames himself Wrath after a Bible verse and teams with his old partner Dennis. Together they cut through a crime network that leads to a governor covering up a pipeline study Vivian refused to falsify. The film is a straight revenge thriller in the mold of Death Wish and Taken.
The story is personal vengeance for a murdered spouse and the exposure of ordinary police and political corruption. Vivian’s pipeline safety report works as a classic cover-up motive, not as an identity or social justice arc. There is no LGBTQ plot, race-as-theme story, or gender ideology line. The lead and his close circle are white, with stock crime-film roles for some nonwhite crooks and one dirty Black cop. Dialogue stays in revenge, dirty-cop, and conspiracy talk without identity, DEI, or gender-politics talking points.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for I Am Wrath.
Woke representation / casting
Not present. Lead and core circle are a white male avenger, white male buddy, white wife victim, and white daughter, with stock nonwhite villain and dirty-cop roles and no diversity-first casting pattern.
0%
Woke political dialogue
Not present. Dialogue is standard revenge, dirty-cop, and conspiracy banter with no identity, DEI, systemic-racism, or gender-politics talking points.
0%
Identity-driven story themes
Not present. The story is personal vengeance and ordinary corruption exposure, with the pipeline report as a cover-up MacGuffin and no LGBTQ, race, or gender-ideology arc.
0%
Western institutional / cultural critique
Corrupt cops and a crooked governor are common genre beats, not activist attacks on patriarchy, whiteness, toxic masculinity, or Christianity. The film favors traditional male skill and family revenge. A liberal-facing governor is the main villain, and Scripture colors the Wrath name without mocking faith. Only a light sense of institutional cynicism comes from the corruption plot itself.
5%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. because this is an original screenplay, not an identity rewrite of established characters or historical figures.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints
Not present. No meaningful anti-woke campaign; reaction is about quality as a Death Wish knockoff, not an identity agenda.
0%
Creator track record context
Cached scores for directors, writers, and producers are almost all very low for genre and action careers with no activist record. Nick Vallelonga scores only mildly higher. Nothing shows a pattern of identity-driven or social-justice work that shows up in this film.
