Mike Regan is an aviation CEO whose smart home and IPO plans come under attack. A fired IT consultant named Ed Porter turns on him after fixating on Mike's teenage daughter. The plot is a cat and mouse techno thriller in which the family's connected house and digital life become weapons. The main ideas are digital privacy, stalking, cyberbullying, smart home risk, and a father trying to protect his family. It is a mid 2010s crime thriller about technology used against ordinary family life.
Audience visible woke content is almost absent. The talk and story stay on privacy, hacking, stalking, and business sabotage rather than identity politics. Women in the film are mainly victims of a male stalker in a standard thriller setup, not carriers of identity driven empowerment arcs. Supporting cast includes minority actors in normal professional and police roles without identity first marketing. Money and tech dependence work as thriller setup, not a modern activist attack on Western institutions.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for I.T..
Woke representation / casting
The main cast is mostly white. A few supporting roles go to minority actors in normal work and police parts. That looks like ordinary modern casting, not an identity first lineup. The small score only marks that supporting presence, not a marketed diversity push.
5%
Woke political dialogue
Not present. Dialogue and premise center on privacy, hacking, stalking, and business sabotage with no audience-visible activist, DEI, race, gender, queer, or modern identity-politics rhetoric.
0%
Identity-driven story themes
Not present. Core story is techno-revenge and family peril; female characters are victims in a conventional thriller structure, not carriers of identity-driven empowerment or systemic-identity arcs, and there is no confirmed LGBTQ storyline.
0%
Western institutional / cultural critique
Not present. Wealth and tech dependence are thriller set dressing, not modern activist critique of patriarchy, whiteness, Christianity, or traditional norms.
0%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. Original screenplay with no established characters, historical figures, or source canon to identity-rewrite.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints
Not present. No credible anti-woke or anti-DEI backlash found; complaints target plot quality, tech illiteracy, and cliché, not left-identity politics.
0%
Creator track record context
Most people tied to the film score very low on identity politics in cached records. One writer scores a bit higher for other work that is not shown in this movie. The team overall looks commercial, not activist. That small score is about the wider slate, not messaging inside this film.
