Ray and Maggie are a married couple who leave their old life after their young daughter dies in an accident. They buy a worn motel in the Arizona desert and hope the quiet place will help them heal. Ray soon finds a hidden passage and a two-way mirror that lets him watch guests in Room 10. The slow, dark thriller follows his growing obsession, a murder, and a threat that puts his marriage and their lives at risk.
The film has no clear woke political message or activist speech. Its only identity-related element is a brief scene in which Jessica and another woman have bondage sex, but the story treats the scene as part of the motel's dangerous mystery rather than as a message about identity. The main themes are grief, guilt, secrecy, sexual obsession, and the damage caused when Ray watches people without their knowledge. The film presents Ray's behavior as wrong and unhealthy, even while his spying drives the suspense.
