The movie centers on a grieving Brazilian fisherman who rescues a penguin from an oil spill and forms a deep friendship that helps him heal and reconnect with family and community. Light environmental elements show up only as background tied to the real oil spill incident and simple animal care, with no sermons or activist push. No identity politics, queer themes, girlboss arcs, or political lectures appear anywhere in the story.
