Nina Forever follows Rob, a young supermarket worker in Britain who still grieves for Nina, his girlfriend who died in a crash. After a failed suicide attempt, Rob starts dating Holly, a coworker who is training to become a paramedic. Nina returns as a bloody ghost whenever Rob and Holly have sex. The film mixes horror, dry jokes, romance, and painful scenes about loss.
The film makes sex and unusual relationships part of its main conflict. Holly keeps choosing Rob after Nina appears, and she even kisses Nina during one sexual encounter. The characters ask whether Holly is bisexual, but Holly says the earlier moment was not anything. The story presents these choices as personal and emotional, not as a public cause. The deeper story follows jealousy, grief, and the hard task of letting go.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for Nina Forever.
Woke representation / casting
Not present. The central trio are white British characters, and the smaller work and crash roles do not form a repeated representation pattern. The film does not frame its casting as empowerment, female gaze, or a diversity statement.
0%
Woke political dialogue
Not present. The characters talk about sex, grief, being “vanilla,” and whether Holly is bisexual. Those lines show jealousy and confusion, but the film does not use them to argue for modern identity or political ideas.
0%
Identity-driven story themes
The film makes an unusual sexual relationship its main hook. Holly keeps choosing Rob after Nina appears, and Holly kisses Nina during one sexual encounter. The film asks whether Holly is bisexual, but she says the earlier moment was not anything. The main story still follows grief, jealousy, and the struggle to let go, so the sexual identity element is strong but not the film’s only subject.
34%
Western institutional / cultural critique
Not present. The film shows a supermarket, paramedic training, and family grief without attacking those institutions or wider Western culture. Its harsh view of love and male dependence is personal drama, not modern activist critique.
0%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. Nina Forever is an original story about Rob, Holly, and Nina. It does not change an established character, book, real person, or historical event.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints
Not present. No qualifying complaints found. The separate X pass found no anti-woke reaction. Reddit and review discussion focused on pacing, gore, grief, and the unusual sex scenes, with no reported claim that the film pushes DEI or identity politics.
0%
Creator track record context
The Blaine brothers repeatedly choose grief, sexuality, and unusual relationships as creative subjects. Their interviews about Nina Forever focus on honest feelings, human behavior, and making a strange horror romance. Cached context gives the directors low scores and shows no clear DEI campaign, partisan politics, or culture-war persona. The producer and casting context add little political signal.
