The film follows Reinhard Heydrich from a failed naval career to his rise as a leading Nazi officer. He helps build the SS, directs terror in occupied Europe, and becomes a key planner of the Final Solution. In Prague in 1942, Czech and Slovak resistance fighters prepare to kill him. The tone is grim and violent, with a long first half about Heydrich and a tense second half about the attack.
The film gives Lina Heydrich an important part in her husband’s rise because she pushes him toward the Nazi Party and helps him meet Himmler. That choice gives a woman strong influence in the story, but Lina supports a racist dictatorship and the film does not present her as a modern role model. The resistance story praises courage, duty, friendship, and sacrifice for people under occupation. The main message is that ordinary people can resist terrible leaders, even when the cost is their own lives.
