2016–2018 · Based on 3 seasons ·
Love is a Netflix comedy-drama set in Los Angeles. It follows Mickey, a woman fighting drinking and dating problems, and Gus, a kind but clingy tutor on a kids TV set. After messy breakups they meet and try to build something real while both keep making bad choices. Across three seasons the show sticks to their fights, awkward sex, recovery, friends, and family stress. The tone is funny, cringey, and often hard to watch in a real way.
The series is about personal flaws and modern dating mistakes. Mickey joins AA and sex-and-love addict meetings and tries to grow up. Gus learns that being the nice guy can hide neediness and sudden anger. Side stories follow roommates and coworkers through work drama and messy romance. The plot stays on these people as individuals and how they hurt and help each other.

Creator track record context
Key people on this show have low stored woke scores. Apatow and Rust are known for relationship and raunchy comedy, not activist projects. Showalter, Slattery, and Sansom also show little public activist or identity-driven work. That mild background fits a personal dating comedy, not a political one.
