Canadian TV reporter Ken Scarborough is about to lose his job when he chases a rumor about the Pentaverate, a hidden group that has guided world events for centuries. Ken travels from Toronto to New York with his coworker Reilly and conspiracy fan Anthony. The group learns that media boss Bruce Baldwin plans to sell the group’s powerful computer and control facts. The six episodes use wild accents, crude sex jokes, and silly action as Ken tries to save the computer and the world.
Reilly later says the Pentaverate is run by old white men who ignore more diverse workers below them. The show makes jokes about its first Black member and has an Asian billionaire join as a science expert. It also mocks a far-right radio host, red-pill talk, online lies, and people who deny climate change. The ending removes the old group and replaces it with the Septaverate, which is openly called more representative and inclusive and is led by Reilly.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for The Pentaverate.
Woke representation / casting
Reilly is a black woman who moves from Ken’s coworker to leader of the new Septaverate. Skip Cho is an Asian billionaire who joins as a weather science expert. The show makes the old leaders’ whiteness and age a stated problem. The finale replaces their group with members described as diverse in gender, race, and ability.
40%
Woke political dialogue
Rex Smith is a far-right radio parody who spreads wild claims and sells products. Reilly says old white leaders block diverse workers from making decisions. Bruce says he used media lies to tell people who to vote for. The finale links truth, climate change, and public trust in experts to the fight against him.
43%
Identity-driven story themes
Reilly says her secret mission began because the Pentaverate ignored diverse workers. Patty supports Reilly’s push to change the group. The ending presents a more diverse and inclusive group as the better replacement. This theme shapes the final reveal and resolution more than the earlier mystery plot.
35%
Western institutional / cultural critique
Bruce is a wealthy media owner who says he used news lies to sway voters. The show treats far-right media, QAnon-style claims, and online conspiracy culture as harmful. Reilly attacks the old white leadership as an unfair power group. The main story still focuses more on broad comedy and a secret-society plot.
30%
Woke character or canon changes
Not relevant. The show expands a brief joke from an earlier Mike Myers film. The story does not change established characters or history for identity reasons.
0%
Anti-woke backlash and complaints
Some user reviews called the final episodes woke or left-wing. Those posts objected to the old-white-men speech and the diverse new group. Other online discussion focused more on the show’s jokes and pacing. Major coverage did not show a large anti-woke backlash.
16%
Creator track record context
Producer Jason Weinberg is a board member of an LGBTQ family-rights group. Producer Tony Hernandez founded a project that records immigrant stories and fights xenophobia. Creator Mike Myers has no cached pattern of DEI-focused work. The main writers also have no cached activist or identity-driven record.
