2016–2018 · Based on 3 seasons through October 2, 2018 ·
Wrecked follows plane-crash survivors who become trapped on remote islands and other dangerous places. Owen, a clueless flight attendant, joins workers, wealthy passengers, and strangers who face pirates, disease, animals, land mines, and wealthy hunters. The show uses crude jokes, violence, romance, and dark comedy while parodying Lost. The group survives through strange conflicts that often make their situation more dangerous.
The show has a visibly mixed cast and gives several women strong roles in the group. Season three includes an episode about sexual misconduct, women speaking up, and the #MeToo movement. Jess becomes more willing to oppose Todd and make her own choices, while Florence appears as an openly feminist character. These ideas can be seen in parts of the story, but survival comedy, romance, violence, and parody remain more important. The wealthy hunters also create a broad story about class power, but the show does not build a lasting argument about Western institutions or traditional culture.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for Wrecked.
Woke representation / casting
The show uses a visibly mixed main cast that includes Black, Asian, and Latino performers in important roles. The group also gives several women strong and active parts in the survival story. The casting fits a modern American passenger group, so the main signal comes from repeated attention to diversity rather than a clear setting mismatch. Marketing and interview coverage openly highlighted the diverse cast.
34%
Woke political dialogue
Season three includes an episode built around the #MeToo movement. The episode treats sexual misconduct and women speaking up as current social issues. The idea appears mainly in one episode instead of driving the whole series. Most dialogue concerns survival, sex, violence, and comedy.
27%
Identity-driven story themes
Jess has a continuing story about becoming more independent and standing up to her selfish husband, Todd. Season three adds a women empowerment plot connected to #MeToo. Florence is also written as an openly feminist character, although the show often makes her a joke. These themes return in character stories but remain secondary to the survival comedy.
31%
Western institutional / cultural critique
Season three attacks wealthy people who capture poor survivors and hunt them for sport. The story also uses the #MeToo episode to criticize sexual abuse and male power. The class story mainly works as broad comedy about evil rich people. The show does not build a repeated critique of Western institutions or traditional culture.

Creator track record context
Ally Maki described the creators and producers as strong feminists and supporters of the #MeToo movement. That statement connects their views to the season three episode about women’s empowerment. Cached creator records otherwise show little public political or identity-focused activism.
