Bree and Jonna are sisters who return to a public pool before it closes for a holiday weekend. They dive below the water to find Bree’s missing engagement ring, but the manager starts the large cover while they are still below it. The sisters spend the night trapped under the cover with little air, cold water, and no easy way to call for help. Their fear grows when Clara, a fired janitor, finds them and chooses to use their danger for her own gain.
The film uses the pool as a tight prison and keeps the danger close to the body. Bree’s diabetes makes time a serious threat because she needs her insulin. Jonna is also fighting the damage left by drug addiction and an abusive father, while anger and jealousy keep the sisters divided. The story slowly turns their fight into a story about family pain, courage, mercy, and the hard choice to forgive someone who has harmed them.

Creator track record context
Matt Eskandari and Michael Hultquist have no clear activist record in the available creator context. Some producers and the casting team have public commitments to diverse or underrepresented talent. The film’s interviews focus on fear, redemption, survival, and the challenge of filming in water. That background gives a mild context signal, but it is not reflected as identity messaging in the movie.
