Mills is a space pilot from another planet who takes a long job to pay for his sick daughter. His ship is wrecked and crashes on Earth about 65 million years ago. Almost everyone on board dies. He finds one living girl named Koa, and they must cross a wild land full of dinosaurs to reach a small escape ship before a huge rock from space hits the planet. The mood is tense and scary, with quiet sad moments about family mixed into the action.
The heart of the story is Mills’s pain over losing his child and the bond he forms with Koa while they try to stay alive. They barely share a language, so they rely on looks, trust, and teamwork. Mills stays a strong adult who guides and guards her. Koa is brave and helps when she can, including in fights with big creatures. The film stays fixed on survival, grief, and a makeshift parent-child pair, not on modern social or identity messages.

Creator track record context
The main writers and directors are long-time genre partners focused on thrills and quiet tension. Cached notes put them and the key producers in a low range with no strong activist pattern. Their public talk for this film stayed on grief, dinosaurs, and almost silent storytelling. That history supports a light context score, not a high one.
