Norah Price is a mechanical engineer on a deep-sea drilling station at the bottom of the Mariana Trench. After a sudden quake wrecks the base, she and a handful of coworkers must cross the dark ocean floor on foot to reach another station. They face crushing pressure, failing suits, and strange creatures that begin hunting them. The mood is tight, scary, and focused on survival under extreme danger.
The story is about panic, teamwork, and staying alive long enough to escape. Norah makes tough choices to help the group and later risks her own life so others can get away. The conflict is physical and practical, not built around race, gender identity, or modern political fights. What the audience sees is a tense monster movie set in a cold underwater workplace.

Creator track record context
The director and writers mainly make genre and action films with little activist history. A few producers have clearer liberal or progressive industry records, including one with strong ties to progressive storytelling. Those crew patterns do not drive the movie’s plot, dialogue, or marketing as a social-justice project.
