The movie includes scenes where women come out looking better than the men after a dinner party. One man gets his sexual abilities viciously mocked with no comeback. A strong black woman snaps that she does not need defending from her boyfriend. Cate Blanchett's character praises the joys of not having children for her posh lifestyle. The cast has a safely diverse mix but the story stays focused on spy intrigue and marriage without activist pushes.
