Once Upon a Snowman follows Olaf just after Elsa brings him to life on the North Mountain near Arendelle. The cheerful snowman wakes up alone and wonders what he is and who he should be. He travels through the snow, visits Oaken’s shop, and gets pulled into the chase around Anna and Kristoff. The short uses quick jokes, mild danger, and a warm family tone.
Olaf tries many noses while he searches for a name and a sense of self. Oaken’s summer images help explain why Olaf loves summer even though heat could melt him. Olaf faces hungry wolves, gives away the nose he wants, and learns that kindness feels like a warm hug. His memories of Anna and Elsa lead him to remember that he is Olaf, a loving and hopeful friend.
