The PAW Patrol crash lands on a hidden island filled with dinosaurs after a storm. They meet Rex, a clever pup who uses wheels on his back legs and knows the island well. Mayor Humdinger starts mining for diamonds and causes a volcano to erupt. The pups must rescue the island’s animals while Marshall faces his fear of making mistakes. The movie gives Rex a heroic role and presents his disability as one part of his life rather than his whole identity. Marshall’s story focuses on courage, mistakes, and refusing to give up. The film also supports teamwork, rescue work, and helping others. These themes are clear but stay inside a simple children’s adventure and do not become a political message.

Breakdown
These are the editorial factors and ratings behind our score for PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie.
Woke representation / casting
The movie gives Rex a prominent heroic role as a disabled pup who uses wheels on his back legs. The production cast Hayden Chemberlen, a young wheelchair user, to voice Rex. The film also frames this choice as meaningful representation for children, but it does not build the whole cast around identity messaging.

Identity-driven story themes
The movie gives Rex a continuing role as a capable disabled hero. The story shows that his disability does not stop him from leading, exploring, or solving problems. Marshall’s story adds a repeated message about confidence, mistakes, and perseverance. These ideas are important to character growth but remain within a simple family adventure.
