Table 19 follows Eloise, a former maid of honor who is dumped by the bride’s brother before the wedding. She still attends the reception and is sent to a back table with five guests the family barely knows or feels obligated to invite. The group includes a troubled married couple, a lonely teenager, an ex-convict, and the bride’s former nanny. Their awkward day becomes a funny and sad story about secrets, hurt, forgiveness, and finding people who will stand by them.
The film’s main social idea is that people who seem unwanted can still form a family and deserve kindness. It jokes about wedding status, polite social rules, marriage trouble, and the pressure to look happy. The characters face an unexpected pregnancy, a woman’s terminal cancer, a prison past, and a damaged romance. The story asks whether old hurt can be faced before people walk away. It ends with several broken relationships repaired and the table treated as a new family.
